CA polls not necessary: Suman

The valley bureau in-charge of the CPN-Maoist, Suman, today said there was no need of holding the elections to a constituent assembly at present.

Addressing the Bhaktapur district assembly of the Maoist-affiliated Nepal Intellectuals’ Organisation at Balkot, he underlined the need for declaring Nepal a republic.

He claimed that the present parliament was constituted due to the Maoists’ struggle.

The valley bureau in-charge of the CPN-Maoist also stressed the need for taking action against the culprits of the royal palace massacre.

Maoists’ Bhaktapur district in-charge, Prabha, said since the Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist “is in the fourth place in Bhaktapur, it should serve the people and reach the first place”.

Stating that a lot of accidents have been taking place on the Arniko highway due to poor traffic management, she said talks are being held with the administration for the construction of passenger waiting sheds at different places along the highway.

She called on all to contribute from their respective quarters for putting a stop to alcohol misuse, gambling and prostitution in Bhaktapur.

At the Bhaktapur district assembly, general secretary of the Nepal National Intellectuals’ Association, Kulananda Giri, CPN-Maoist Bhaktapur district secretary Diwakar and central member Rajan Pokharel also expressed their views.
