CA vice-chair cut up with leaders

NEPALGUNJ: Vice-chairperson of Constituent Assembly (CA) Purna Kumari Subedi has blamed top leaders of political parties for being indifferent to the constitution drafting process.

Talking to mediapersons in Nepalgunj, Subedi said, “As the presence of top leaders of political parties is thin in different thematic committees of the CA, they are not giving importance to the statute draft.”

She also blamed the leaders that they were simply involved in political squabbling leaving the constitution drafting process at bay.

Meanwhile, she suggested the leaders to keep the concerns of the people and the nation in mind rather than being engaged in petty party interests. She, however, asked the incumbent government to address the

sentiments of the opposition and help improve

the troubled political

scenario.

She also ridiculed

at the jumbo size of the cabinet. “It is against the want of the people, “she said. A big cabinet and numbers of deputy prime ministers were in no way any achievement for a country, she added.
