Call to upgrade Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi road section
KATHMANDU: The Central Regional Road Directorate on Wednesday tabled a proposal to the Department of Roads and Ministry of Physical and Transport urging the authorities to improve and upgrade the Kathmandu-Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi route.
The route was used to import fuel provided by China in grant assistance.
According to the Directorate, around 110 segments of the 164-kilometre route, from Galchhi to Rasuwagadhi, has just one lane and hence is not suitable for movement of fuel tankers.
Besides, around six-kilometre section from Ramche to Mulkharka witnesses big landslides every year.
"A passenger bus en route to Rasuwa from the Capital had met with a fatal accident along the same route on Tuesday, killing 36 people," said Kishornath Gongal, Regional Road Director.
