The police team seized and destroyed 234 litres of illegal alcohol and raw materials for making hooch

A police team of the District Police Office, Dadeldhura, has been actively working to minimise illegal activities in the district.

Police started a campaign after local women complained about increasing illegal activities in the district with District Police Chief Prem Bahadur Shahi.

Shahi, who was transferred to Dadeldhura DPO a week ago, has launched a movement to minimise criminal activities in the district. DSP Shahi said that the police team would control gambling, domestic violence, and liquor-related crimes in the first phase.

Meanwhile, the police team seized 234 litres of illegal alcohol along with raw materials used to make the liquor from different places of the district until yesterday evening. The police team destroyed the seized materials on the premises of the DPO yesterday.

DSP Shahi further informed that the police team had also arrested six persons for gambling from Baghkhor, the district headquarters, yesterday. He said that plainclothes police personnel have been deployed after cases of domestic violence were reported at the DPO.

Similarly, police destroyed marijuana farms in different places of the district as part of the movement. Police said that they have destroyed twelve   ropani marijuana farms at different places in Amargadi Municipality.
