Campus row continues

BAGLUNG: A meeting held between the campus administration, teachers and student unions on Friday to resume classes in Mahendra Multiple Campus ended inconclusively.

Free Students’ Union (FSU) and Nepal Students’ Union demanded that the cases filed against student leaders be withdrawn while ANNFSU supporters were for taking action against them.

Campus chief Ram Prasad Upadhyay said they have urged political parties to help resolve the impasse, believing that their serious efforts can yield something positive.

Meanwhile, FSU accused ANNFSU supporters of not helping in their effort to forge a consensus. FSU today took to the streets demanding the release of union’s joint secretary Surendra Bosela. They also demanded resumption of regular activities in the campus at the earliest. Students demonstrated by burning tyres from 4 pm to 5 pm at Jibisachowk.
