DAMAULI: Tanahun District Court today found a person guilty of the hit-and-run death of an elderly, and imposed a jail term of one and half months and a penalty of Rs. 2,000 on him. After a hearing, district judge Umesh Koirala issued the verdict against Hari Gaire (35) from Khoplang VDC-4 of Tanahun, saying he was responsible for the vehicular homicide. Gaire's car (Ga 1 Cha 7543) had hit a pedestrian, Newulal Ale (67) of Ghansikuwa-5 of the district, on May 18. Critically injured in the incident, Ale later died during the treatment. Gaire who was on the run immediately after the incident was arrested later.
