Chand-led CPN threatens media outlets for coverage against party
Kathmandu, March 28
The Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal has threatened the media ‘for their coverage against the party, its revolutionary movement and leaders’ and warned them against publishing and broadcasting ‘false, unnecessary, baseless, unusual and misleading news in a premeditated manner’.
A press release purportedly issued by Chand today alleged that ‘the media operated by corporate houses of Nepal had been disseminating misleading news against the party. “Any coverage against a revolutionary communist party which has been raising its voice for nationality, people’s democracy and livelihood can’t be a journalism in reality,” the CPN said.
It also warned the media ‘not to produce such news under the instruction and pressure of anyone only to increase investment, advertisement and manufacture consent’, as it would be detrimental to the people and nation.
