CJ Parajuli felicitated in home district

Nawalparasi, August 25

Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli today said the present constitution has provisioned rights of the people; though necessary laws for effective execution of such rights are yet to be formulated.

Civil societies of Kawasoti in Nawalparasi, Justice Parajuli’s home district, today feted him at a programme. On behalf of town denizens, Kawasoti Municipality Mayor Chanda Kumari Pun felicitated him.

During the function, CJ Parajuli said, “The constitution has ensured all the essential rights of the people including food, clothes, shelter, education, health and jobs. However, these provisions were not effectively implemented for want of necessary laws. Nepal is in the phase of drafting necessary laws. Once drafting is completed, the effectiveness of the new constitution will be felt robustly.”

More than a dozen organisations in the district conferred felicitations upon CJ Parajuli. Parajuli had to go round Kawasoti Bazaar on an elephant after the programme. Meanwhile, Chief Justice Parajuli also inaugurated Star Television in Kawasoti today. After the inaugural function, he said that he would always advocate justice and lauded the contribution of the mass media in establishing just societies.
