Chiefs of CA, parliamentary committees elected, sworn in
Kathmandu, January 13:
The Constituent Assembly (CA) and Legislature Parliament today elected chairpersons of 23 committees. Elections were held for three committees, two CA and one parliamentary committees, whereas 19 candidates were declared elected
unopposed. All of them took oath of office and secrecy from CA chairman Subas Nembang.
Out of 14 CA committees, chairpersons of 12 committees were elected unopposed while CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pramod Prasad Gupta of Madheshi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) were elected for the Constitutional Committee and Public Opinion Collection and
Coordination Committee with majority vote.
One, out of the nine, chairpersons Yashoda Gurung (Subedi) of CPN-Maoist was elected with majority vote in the Legislation Committee of the parliament. She defeated Sarita Giri of Nepal Sadbhavana Party. Top Bahadur Rayamajhi of CPN-Maoist withdrew his nomination today from State Affairs Committee.
