China company searching goldmines in Jajarkot

JAJARKOT: A Chinese company has started the feasibility study of goldmines on the banks of Bheri River in Jajarkot district.

Dharmashree Mines is conducting the study in Dhalla Khalanga and Jagatipur in the district under the leadership of Chinese national Sung Ping.

The team has drilled a 150-foot hole for the study, but no progress is traced so far, the Chinese national said.

The team is expected to stay for three more months in Jajarkot.

The Chinese firm has also constructed a two-km road to reach the digging site with necessary equipment.

Bhoj Kumar Tamang, a Nepali team member, said that the types of stones and other minerals extracted from the site would be sent to the company’s headquarters for further investigations.
