Chitwan DAO takes initiative to manage land plotting

Chitwan, August 31

Chitwan DAO has taken initiative to manage the rampant plotting of land without permission in the district.

The DAO has written to the concerned stakeholders and agencies to carry out land plotting only after procuring land development permission.

Sale and purchase of land came to a grinding halt from yesterday after the DAO issued a directive to stop the sale and purchase of land without permission.

A committee led by Bharatpur Municipal Development Chairman Ishwori Paudel had submitted the report on managed land plotting as per the prevailing law of the country to the DAO almost one-and-a-half month ago.

The DAO has written to the municipalities, land survey office, land revenue office and other stakeholders to abide by the Settlement Development, Urban and Building Basic Construction Standard 2015.

Chitwan Chief District Officer Binod Prakash Singh said the District Administration Office had also issued directive to effectively implement the new regulation after complaints regarding non-compliance with the new rules soared.

CDO Singh warned of action against those who violated the new regulation.

Narayani Land and Residence Entrepreneurs’ Association Chitwan Chairman Baburam Adhikary said the new rules should be applicable only in newly plotted land.

As many as 27 registered real estate companies are plotting land in Chitwan.

Plotting of 2,500 bigaha land is under way.

Engineer Sunil Thakur, chief at Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office, however, said only Road Show Company had received permission to plot land.
