CIAA nabs acting ward chair with bribe money

Biratnagar, November 19

A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority arrested acting ward chairman Umesh Kumar Sah of Jahada Rural Municipality-1 with bribe amount in Morang today.

Itahari-based CIAA team arrested Sah with Rs 21,000 from the ward office today.

A case was filed against Sah after he asked for Rs two lakh from a contractor in a road promotion project, at Itahari-based CIAA Office. CIAA Spokesperson Gyanendra Prasad Dhakal said Sah was brought to the office for further investigation.

Sah was given the responsibility of acting ward chairman of Jahada Rural Municipality-1 after ward Chairman Pradip Yadav fled when he was accused of murdering a local Samananda Yadav, 55, of Biratnagar metropolis.
