KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority caught an official of the District Survey Office, Banke, red-handed with bribe in Nepalgunj on Sunday.

According to the anti-graft constitutional body, surveyor Jibachha Yadav had taken Rs 1,00,000 as kickback from a client.

The CIAA had swung into action after receiving a tip-off that Yadav had sought money to survey a plot of land and prepare the land ownership certificate. A team was deployed from the CIAA's office in Kohalpur to arrest Yadav.

Yadav was arrested from the District Survey Office's premises while taking bribe.

An investigation into the case is underway, the CIAA said in a statement.
