'Civilian supremacy is bottom line'

JANAKPURDHAM: UCPN-Maoist vice chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha 'Prakash' said on Thursday that civilian supremacy is the bottom line for consensus among the political parties to resolve the present political deadlock.

Speaking to reporters at Janakpur Airport, Prakash said that the popular mandate of people's revolt is civilian supremacy. He further explained civilian supremacy by saying that the Maoists have been trying to end military supremacy since its establishment. He said that the Maoists are being very flexible to resolve the political impasse. He blamed the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML for derailing the peace process. He also alleged that the NC and the UML are destroying the national unity.
