CNP lodge makes it to CNN’s list of boutique hotels

Meghauli-based Barahi Jungle Lodge (Resort) in Chitwan has made it to the CNN’s list of top five boutique hotels in Nepal with the potential to revive the country’s tourism sector.
The CNN stated that Barahi Resort was trying to revive in the aftermath of the 2015 earthquakes and last year’s border blockade, and contribute the national tourism sector.
Bahari Jungle Lodge Managing Director Biplav Poudel said they were elated at the news. “It’s a good news not only for us but for the entire tourism sector,” he said.
According to him, the lodge is environment-friendly. “From the construction of the hotel to other physical infrastructures and its operation, we ensure that everything here is environment-friendly,” Poudel said, adding the hotel uses biogas as fuel and has banned the use of polyethylene bags.
Set up amidst greenery, the hotel is spread over 20 bigha land. Of the total area, the hotel has its own organic farm in nine bigaha area. “Our specialty is that ours is a ‘green hotel’, where guests can eat organic vegetables and fruits. The organic aspect of our hotel has earned us the space on an international news portal like CNN,” he said.
Featuring 34 deluxe rooms, the hotel also boasts of a luxury suit for special guests. The rooms are made in such a way that guests can have a view of the Rapti River and Chitwan National Park.
Similarly, guests at the hotel can enjoy elephant jungle safari and observe rare one-horned rhino as well as other wildlife species.
Boating on the Rapti River is another attraction of the hotel that is equipped with swimming pool, spa and massage services.
