Congress has not offered PM’s post to Dahal: Sharma

Kathmandu, January 14

Newly appointed Spokesperson of the Nepali Congress Bishwa Parkash Sharma said the party has not offered the prime ministerial post to CPN MC Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Speaking in a interaction organised by Reporter’s Club today, Sharma rejected the allegation that the NC wants to break the left alliance. Sharma  further said how fast the left alliance could be united was up to the parties. “My best wishes to them for unification and I also request them not to blame others for their weaknesses,” he said.

Sharma informed that the NC Central Working Committee meeting was going to be held soon. I will set the date of the Mahasamiti meeting, which may or may not to call early General Convention of the party as demanded by party’s youth leaders.

“I personally favour the Maha Samiti meeting instead of an early or special general convention, but if the one-third of the central members appeal for that, it would be mandatory for the party leadership to call the general convention.”

He said the NC needs to seriously conduct of review of the unexpected defeat in the elections. “The CWC will give new energy to the party after that review”, he said.
