Constitution amendment must for implementation: PM

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday reiterated that the Constitution amendment proposal registered at the House must be passed for an effective implementation of the national charter.

Dahal argued that the amendment proposal was aimed at strengthening national unity by incorporating sentiments of people of all regions in the Constitution.

Addressing cadres of his CPN Maoist Centre party in Dhangadhi of Kailali district today, Dahal also claimed his government was preparing grounds to hold elections at local, provincial and federal level to ensure the Constitution implementation.

Meanwhile, Dahal expressed his hope that the Maoist movement in Nepal would continue till all issues of changes were effectively addressed.

"This is not only a party, but also a movement making ground-breaking changes in Nepal," he said while delivering training to his cadres.

Top leaders of the party including Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Ram Bahadur Thapa as well as the party's central leaders Lekhraj Bhatta, Gauri Shankar Chaudhary and Khagaraj Bhatta had conducted training sessions to the Maoist cadres.
