Construction of drinking water project begins in Nawalparasi

KAWASOTI: A drinking water project has started at Madhyabindu Municipality-13 in Nawalparasi at a cost of around Rs 80 million.

Mainaghat Drinking Water Project is implemented by the state government keeping in mind the shortage of drinking water faced by locals at present.

Works related to deep boring construction have already been initiated.

According to ward chair Arjun Pangeni, ground water has been harvested from a depth of 135 metres. Construction of an overhead water tank, pipeline extension, among others will begin soon.

Earlier, the state government had allocated Rs 7.91 million to implement the project.

Besides, the federal government has provided some financial assistance for the project. The project is expected to complete in two years and is expected to benefit some 500 households at Mainaghat, Duwakun and Magarsinga, ward chair Pangeni informed.
