Contempt case heard

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court on Tuesday conducted a hearing on a contempt of court case against Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tara Nath Ranabhat, and the then opposition leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, and former lawmakers Sherdhan Rai, Rajendra P Pandey, and Mahendra B Pandey. They had criticised a court verdict, which had declared Prakash Chandra Lohani of the RPP as the winner of the election held in Nuwakot constituency number 1. The Election Commission had declared Rajendra Prakash Lohani as winner. — HNS
