Contracts not signed for two-third projects
Lamjung, February 2
Six months into the current fiscal, contracts are yet to be signed for two-thirds of the development projects in Lamjung.
According to Local Development Officer Shekhar Poudyal, over 200 projects are awaiting contract signing. “Of 302 projects, one-third have been signed,” he said.
DDC programme officer Meghendra Pokhrel conceded the inadvertent delay in contract signing against the DDC-fixed deadline of March 3 for all projects this fiscal.
“It’s true that contract signing of many projects hasn’t happened so far and this has affected the development of the district on the whole,” he said, adding that his office is doing the needful to discourage the tendency of signing contracts towards the end of the fiscal.
Meanwhile, the DDC is learnt to be preparing to convene the district council and a symposium to formulate plans for the next fiscal.
As per the schedule, meetings of various subject committees will be held from February 8 to 11 for the selection of projects.
