‘All should contribute to country’s development’
Pokhara, April 13

Addressing a programme organised in Pokhara today to lay the foundation stone of the regional international airport, the PM made all and sundry a clarion call to engage in development of the country.

“As the country has gone through political conflict, earthquake and blockade, now is the time to work to develop the country,” said the PM, adding that the government was preparing to build communal houses to accommodate quake victims.
Condemning the protracted agitation in the name of Tarai-Madhes, Oli argued that the agitation was launched by a handful of so-called Messiahs of the Madhes to get their vested interest fulfilled.
“As the agitation was for the benefit of certain leaders, it was bound to fall through and ultimately it did fail,” he reasoned, adding that the fresh call for agitation wouldn’t appeal to the people this time around.
“The Madhes-based parties are warning of a fresh agitation. I am confident that as the people by now have understood their dirty politics, they won’t support such an agitation,” he said, urging everyone to contribute to the development of the country instead of staging protests and agitations.
UML leader Jhalanath Khanal, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairperson Kamal Thapa and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Chairperson Bijaya Gachadar also spoke on the occasion today, underscoring the need for all political parties to unite.
