Kavre, July 8

Kavre District Court today convicted a Canadian humanitarian and the founder of Street Kids International Charity, Peter John Dalglish, 63, for paedophilia.

A single bench of district judge Arjun Adhikari sentenced Dalglish to nine years in prison in the case of 12-year-old boy and seven years in the case of 14-year-old boy. The court directed Peter to compensate Rs 5 lakh each to both victims. Earlier, the district court had delivered the verdict declaring Dalglish guilty on June 10 and  remanded him to Dhulikhel prison. Dalglish was sent to Dhulikhel jail today.

A special team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau had raided a private house in Mandan Deupur Municipality of Kavre and apprehended Peter Dalglish of Ontario, on the charge of paedophilia on 7 April  2018. Police had rescued two minor boys of 12 and 14 years from his captivity.
