Cops baton-charge YCL men
Bhairahawa, June 4:
The Young Communist League has been blocking traffic at Buddha Chowk since 1 pm, saying six of its cadres were injured when police charged batons following a dispute.
Tension is rife at the Chowk due to the presence of stick-wielding YCL cadres and a large number of security personnel.
Police charged batons after YCL cadres beat up three locals at a salon.
“Traffic will not resume till police take action against those who used force and apologise,” Mani, a member of the YCL, said.
“Police will not apologise because they resorted to lathi-charge after stones were thrown at them,” Rabiraj SP Shrestha said.
