KATHMANDU: Property worth Rs 2 million was gutted in a fire that broke out in a cosmetic and clothing store in Loharpatti Rural Municipality of Mahottari district this morning.

A fire broke out at the shop turning the clothes and cosmetic into cinders at around 5:00 am today, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari.

Owner of the store Rajdev Yadav said that the fire destroyed readymade garments worth Rs 1 million and cosmetic items of Rs 500,000 including other goods.

It is yet to ascertain the cause of the blaze, Superintendent of Police Kuber Kathayat said, adding that a team of police personnel has been deployed from the Loharpatti-based Area Police Office, to look into the matter.
