ILAM: A couple has been arrested on the charge of committing polygamy in Kolbung of Ilam on Wednesday.

The Area Police Office, Pashupatinagar arrested Pradip Lamsal (29) and his wife Bed Kumari Yogi of Kolbung.

They had married just two days ago.

The Lamsal couple was arrested by police on the basis of a complaint lodged by Pramila, the first wife of Lamsal. They were arrested from their home last night and are under custody at the police office.

A case of polygamy will be filed against the couple after fulfilling necessary procedures, police Inspector Padam Thapaliya said.
