KATHMANDU, MARCH 10

CPN-Maoist Centre Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said his party would take decisions about its support to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli-led government only after carefully assessing the situation.

In response to a journalist's query today after his party's Standing Committee meeting, Shrestha said his party wanted to ensure that the current House of Representatives would have full five years' term.

"The Parliament must be able to give the government. We are talking mainly to the Nepali Congress and the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal about the formation of the next government," Shrestha said He said his party was ready to join hands with the CPN-UML if Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, whose move dissolving the HoR was invalidated by the Supreme Court, resigned from the PM's post and worked to unify the two parties. "But the PM has neither resigned nor has he done anything for the unification of the two parties," he added.

Standing Committee of the CPN-MC also formed a four-member task force to submit a report on how the party should strengthen its organisation. The four members of the task force are Pampha Bhusal, Janardan Sharma, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, and Barshaman Pun.
