Pokharel lashes out at NC, CPN-MC
Bara, August 3
CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel today challenged the ruling Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre to contest the polls by unifying the forces as they had no confidence in contesting independently.
Addressing a mass gathering organised by his party at Kolhabi Municipality of Bara today, Pokharel argued that the NC and CPN-MC alliance had not made any difference to his party in the first and second round of civic polls and it would not affect in the upcoming polls as well,” said Pokharel.
He came down heavily on the Nepali Congress and the CPN-Maoist Centre for their irrelevant alliance in the civic polls and slammed them for spreading defamatory remarks about his party as an anti-Madhes force.
“CPN-UML has always been committed to the happiness and prosperity of the people in the Tarai,” claimed Pokharel. He argued that CPN-MC was raising the controversial issue of ‘One Madhes One Province’ and giving topmost executive posts to ‘persons with naturalised citizenship’. He said his party would wash out such forces that made false promises but made the Tarai people resourceless in the name of giving them rights.
“CPN-UML has been moving ahead systematically with the philosophy of unity, nationality, livelihood and prosperity. The country’s prosperity can’t be imagined without the CPN-UML,” he claimed.
