Criminal cases up in Tanahun

DAMAULI, July 31

Compared to the previous year, the number of criminal cases went up last fiscal in Tanahun.

Of the 285 cases registered, 194 cases were settled and 91 were transferred to the last fiscal from the year before. Last year, however, Tanahun registered as many as 326 cases. Of them, 181 were settled while 145 cases remained unsettled.

Cases of murder attempt, human trafficking, arms and ammunition, drugs, were registered among others.

Inspector Prem Shankar Chaudhary of the Crime Investigation Department at the district police office said that criminal incidents had gone up significantly last fiscal. Inspector Chaudhary, said that police had been strengthening police-public rapport, raising awareness and meting out stern punishment to minimise criminal cases.
