All crusher industries in Tanahun operating illegally

All 14 crusher industries operating in Tanahun district have failed to meet new standards set by the government, according to Cottage Development Office of Byash Municipality.

Gokarnaraj Joshi from the office said the defaulting industries include Siddeshwor Aggregate, Asoshnati, Kankrit Industry, Arati Aggregate, Quality Grid and Crusher Industry

of Dulegaida.

Likewise, Malati Aggregate and Thapa Aggregate Industry of Dulegainda and Khairenitar respectively, Shivshakti Gravel and Sand Industry of Khairenitar and Dhorbarahai Aggregate Industries of Chhang, are among the crusher firms that have been operating illegally, according to Joshi.

As per the new standards, a crusher industry should be located 500 metres away from a highway, two kilometres away from an educational institution, two kilometres away from a health facility, religious site, security post, park, and human settlement, according to Joshi.

He added that owners of some of the industries were running their businesses even without registering them at the office.

Joshi said his office had written to the crusher industries, directing them to either shut the businesses or comply with the new standards.

Chief District Officer of Tanahun Ritesh Kumar Shakya said his office had directed the illegally operating industries to comply with the new set of criteria.

CDO Shakya vowed to punish the industries if they failed to abide by them.

District Coordination Committee, Tanahun Chief Shanti Raman Wagle said his office would take action against the industries if they were found operating illegally.
