Kavre, March 8

There are around two dozen mining and crusher industries in Kavre and a significant majority of them are running without following the standard criteria laid down by the government. Some of them have even been operating without registration.

As per the report prepared by Technical Sub-committee under the district-level Monitoring and Coordination Committee, four mining industries are operating without registration for years now.

“A number of the crusher plants are running with official permission,” informed District Coordination Committee Coordinator Uddhav KC.

According to the sub-committee, Pashupati Gravel and Boulder Mining Industry of Namobuddha Municipality-4 has been operating without registration for the past 14 years.

Similarly, Om Satya Sai Stone Crusher Industry Pvt Ltd of Roshi Rural Municipality-7, Blue Simon Gravel and Boulder Industry Pvt. Ltd. of Namobuddha Municipality-6 and SS Gravel and Boulder Industry of Bethanchowk Rural Municipality-4 have been operating illegally for the past 10 years.

Further, DCC coordinator KC informed that the illegally-running industries have been given an ultimatum and asked to submit their licence. “All the industries running illegally are bound to face action,” he said further.

Meanwhile, the sub-committee’s report has also pointed out that not a single crusher industry in the district has completely followed the rules laid down by the government.
