Curfew in Duhabi bazaar lifted
Itahari, May 22:
The indefinite curfew clamped in Duhabi bazaar from 9.30 am yesterday following violence after the killing of a boy was lifted here this morning.
Violence had ensued after a tea shop owner Tikaram Shrestha of Duhabi-6 hacked to death Mohamad Tayub Miyan, 12, a resident of Tuthaha of Duhabi-3 yesterday.
The problem was solved after talks between the relatives of the victim and the district administration last night, acting CDO Chiranjivi Adhikari said.
Agreement has been reached to take strict action against the guilty, to provide immediate relief for the final rites and to urge the government to provide necessary financial support to the family of the victims, Adhikari said. Though the curfew was lifted in the morning, no vehicle plied till 10.00 am here.
