Dacoits kill one; teenager abducted in Saptari

Rajbiraj, November 4:

One person was killed and another abducted in two separate cases of robbery in Saptari last night.

Forty-five-year-old Alam Shekh, a resident of Koiladi Village Development Committee-7, was killed when dacoits shot at him last night, the police said.

A critically injured Shekh died while undergoing treatment at Rajbiraj-based Sagarmatha zonal hospital, the police said.

The gang of dacoits of over 20 persons shot at Shekh after he tried to retaliate against them.

Meanwhile, another gang of armed dacoits abducted fourteen-year-old Sangam Yadav, a resident of Simraha Singiyoun-9 of Saptari district, last night. Yadav was abducted at around 1 am, locals said.

Three persons including Yadav’s father Phagulal, Devlal Yadav and Saraswati Yadav, who tried to retaliate against the abductors, were critically injured when the robbers opened fired on them, police said. The injured are being treated in Sagarmatha zonal hospital.
