Dahal pledges to promote Bharatpur as medical city

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Co-chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his commitment to developing Bharatpur as a medical city.
Speaking at a symposium of health workers of Chitwan district in Bharatpur today, Dahal said, “As more and more private and public health facilities are being set up in Bharatpur, it makes sense to develop the city as a medical city.”
On the occasion, Health Research Council vice-chair Dr Bhojraj Adhikari presented a paper and underscored the need to make Chitwan prosperous.
“Setting up hospitals is not enough to make a medical city. All the people in the area should be healthy by all accounts,” he said.
Chief of District Public Health Office, Chitwan, Bijaya Kumar Jha said the city was witnessing a rise in seasonal diseases of late.
Medical Superintendent at Bharatpur Hospital Dr Rabin Khadka, Executive Director at BP Memorial Cancer Hospital Dr Bijayachandra Acharya and others had spoken on the occasion.
