Jhapa, May 9:

The 16-member fact finding mission has made public its field report of the firing at Chandragadhi in Jhapa on April 19. The report states that the security forces opened fire on the pro-democracy rally though the crowd was not out of control, killing Suraj Biswas of Bhadrapur and Rajan Giri of Charpane.

The report has indicted Mechi Zonal Administrator Shyam Kishor, Chairman of Jhapa DDC Rajendra Lingden, SSP Prajwal Shumsher, Col Sharad Dhakal, Maj Kishan Singh Bhandari, SP Min Bahadur KC of National Investigation Department and Lieutenant Ravi KC for encouraging the security forces to open fire. DSP Shyam Basnet too has been indicted.
