Deadlock to end after Tihar: Badal

ITAHARI:UCPN-Maoist general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa 'Badal' said on Saturday that the political impasse will end soon after his party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal returns from his China visit on October 19.

Speaking at a press meet organised by the Revolutionary Journalists Association Sunsari chapter in Itahari, Badal said that the dialogue among the big three parties- the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and his own party are underway on a positive note.

He informed that with the ruling parties CPN-UML and Nepali Congress having tendered their proposal from their side and the Maoists also having proposed their own, the discussion is going on.

Referring the President's move, he said that the President's move must be discussed in the Legislature-Parliament otherwise the House impasse will not be resolved. He clarified that the Maoists will not hamper the peace process and the constitution making process.

Thapa informed that if the step of the President is not corrected, an andolan will be started by Tihar. If the UML and NC are not ready to end the political deadlock, a hard-hitting andolan would be started.

He alleged that the constitution process would be obstructed by the government and not the Maoists.

He added that the Maoists are totally committed to the nation and people.
