CHITWAN: Nepali Congress, Chitwan has expressed serious concern over the death threat to Deputy Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City and NC leader Parbati Shah Thakuri.

Issuing a press release on Wednesday, NC Chitwan Secretary Uttam Joshi said the party's attention was drawn towards the incident in which a people-elected representative has been threatened.

Such a tendency would discourage the people's representatives to work for public good, the release reads. NC has warned not to issue such threats and intimidate people's representatives in any pretext.

The NC has also demanded the concerned side to take action against those involved in such activities.

Deputy Mayor Thakuri said, a student leader had sent her a threatening message through a social networking site.
