Birgunj, October 5:

Family members of 19-year-old Sabita Chaudhary, of Birgunj sub-metropolis, who died on Wednesday evening while undergoing treatment in the Narayani sub-regional hospital, staged a two-hour protest today, saying the post-mortem report on Chaudhary was erroneous.

Chaudhary was critically injured after a dispute with her neighbour. The police resorted to blank-firing and lathi-charge when the family members tried to gherao the district administration office, said chief district officer Dipak Kumar Joshi. He said that a large number of security personnel – civilian and armed police forces — were mobilised in the sensitive areas to control the situation.
