Deuba for pact with Tarai groups
Bhairahawa, December 31:
Former prime minister and senior leader of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba said today that forces agitating in the Tarai, which are against the constituent assembly polls, should be brought to mainstream politics at the earliest through talks.
Deuba said, "An agreement should be struck with the forces that are against the polls."
He said the date for the polls will be announced after amending some Acts. "A full-fledged republic will be established after the polls."
"I tried to take both the monarchy and democracy ahead, but the king deceived me," he said, adding, "A republic will be established due to conduct of the king himself."
