Deuba sees a dictator in the making in Prachanda

Pokhara, February 7:

Senior leader of Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba today said Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had tried to impose dictatorship by issuing ordinances.

Inaugurating the 4th central general convention of Nepal Tourism Hotel Casino and Restaurants Workers’ Organisation in Pokhara today, he warned that the NC would protest the ordinances.

Deuba further accused the Maoist-led government of trying to rule by ordinances and ignoring the parliamentary system. “The Maoists are trying to break the parliamentary system,” he said.

Stating that the Maoists were conspiring to overpower the state in different pretexts, he urged all to stand for a democratic system.

“Freedom is impossible without democracy,” he said, “So all should stand against the Maoists’ dictatorial activities.”

The NC leader also highlighted the need for harmonious relations between the workers

and owners of hotels and casinos.

“The Maoists have not followed any of the past agreements. They say one thing and do

another,” he said.

On the occasion, Nepali Congress central member Bal Krishna Khand accused the Maoists of unleashing terror among rural folks. The two-day convention is participated by 500 tourism workers from across the country.
