JANAKPURDHAM: The autopsy report of a minor girl who was found burnt to death on Thursday at Hariharpur in Mithila Municipality revealed that she was raped before her brutal murder.

The deceased’s body was covered in hay and partially incinerated to conceal her identity after she was raped and murdered, police officials investigating the incident said.

Following the incident, law enforcement officers had summoned a team of medical professional at the incident site where the 11-year-old girl with speech impairment was found dead.

Forensic and medical experts after their investigation on Monday concluded that the victim was gang-raped and murdered.

Meanwhile, sources say that police officers have arrested a person on suspicion of connection with the crime. However, no official statement on the matter has been disseminated by law enforcement agencies yet.

According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Hari Bahadur Paal, officers are investigating the rape and murder, and the perpetrator behind the crime would be booked soon.
