‘Dialogue with Chand outfit possible’

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has said dialogue with Netra Bikram Chand-led party was possible if it accepted the constitution.
He urged the party to give up violence and accept the constitution as the constitution had ensured almost all rights, including political and social and other rights.
While making public the decisions of the recent Cabinet meeting in a press meet at the ministry today, Minister Banskota asked the party to abandon violence and respect people’s desire for peace and prosperity.
Answering mediapersons regarding the Chand-led party’s proposal for talks, Minister Baskota said the government would be ready to hold talks with the party if it came within the framework of the constitution.
Minister Baskota shared that the government was committed to maintaining good governance and stern implementation of laws. While responding to the query of mediapersons regarding the arrest of singer Samir Ghising aka VTEN, Minister Baskota said language, meaning and presentation of any song and write-up should be decent and civilised so that they could be read out and heard with family members.
He said, “It is not a barbaric society where anything is accepted. It is civilised society therefore morality, discipline and good-manners are important.”
