Dipayal fire destroys property worth Rs 100 million

DIPAYAL: A provisional assessment of the fire incident  in Dipayal of Doti district on Sunday afternoon has  shown that  property worth Rs 100 million including eight motorcycles was reduced to cinders.

It has been learnt that the fire broke out abruptly while petrol was being filled into a drum directly from a fuel tanker.

Dipayal fire destroys 4 houses, shops, vehicles

DIPAYAL: At least four houses and a fuel station were gutted in a fire incident in Dipayal of Doti district on Sunday afternoon.

The fire started at around 1:30 pm from the local JB Oil Store located at Pipalla Bazaar and spread to four adjoining houses destroying the shops operated in the houses.

The Oil Store operated by Prakash Kapadel, the Shaileshwari Jewellary Shop of Suraj Sop, the Shaileshwori Offset Press owned by Bashu Dev Gautam and a tea shop of Lokendra Bista were reduced to cinders in the incident, informed Sub Inspector Dil Bahadur Kunwar, Incharge at Dipayal Area Police Office.

An oil tanker and a motorcycle were destroyed in the incident.

In addition, the fire caused a minor damage to the adjacent Rastriya Banijya Bank branch office.

No human casualty has been reported at the incident.

The fire was brought under control with the concerted effort of a fire brigade of Dipayal Silgadhi, security personnel and locals, said police.

The cause of the fire is not known yet.

Police are compiling the total property damage estimates, informed SP Dilli Raj Bista, chief of the District Police Office.
