Discount on homestay for tourists

HOSAN plans to monitor services offered by homestays across the country

Kavre, November 21

Homestay Association Nepal has announced 20 per cent discount on boarding at homestay facilities across the country in the upcoming Visit Year 2020.

According to HOSAN central Chairperson Keshav Prasad Badal, the decision was taken to promote homestay and help the government’s visit year campaign. It will apply to both domestic and foreign tourists staying at homestay facilities.

“As we look forward to making the visit year a grand success, the association has also asked the Non-resident Nepalis to send visitors to Nepal,” said Badal, who is also the owner of Patalekhet Homestay in Dhulikhel Municipality-11.

Besides, the association also decided to treat visitors staying at homestay facilities with daily evening cultural programmes as far as possible.  “We look forward to making such an impression on visitors with our service that they feel like returning to this beautiful country in the future too,” Badal said. As per data with the association, homestay facilities are available in 57 districts across the country.

Meanwhile, HOSAN is also preparing to monitor homestay facilities across the country to ensure that such facilities operate effectively and comply with the government’s Homestay Operation Procedure-2016.

It is said the decision to monitor homestays was a response to reports that some homestay facilities were operating without license or with poor management.

“As it came to our notice that some homestay facilities were running in a disorderly fashion and without permission, we will monitor and recommend action against the homestays that are in the wrong,” Badal said, adding that he hoped the monitoring would ensure quality service to visitors.
