Discussion on Beijing Meet organised

Kathmandu, November 11:

Participants of a meeting on United Nations Division for the Advancement of Women organised from October 31 to November 4 at the UN central headquarters in New York discussed and approved several measures to achieve goals set by the Beijing Convention.

Women and conflict, economic equality for development and justice, human rights and women and access to information were the four major agendas of the conference, a press release issued by Beyond Beijing Committee (BBC) said.

Anjana Shakya, president of the BBC participated in the meeting representing Nepal, the release added. Shakya presented a paper on the impact of armed conflict on women at the programme on November 3.
