Displaced still fear to return home in Surkhet

Surkhet, March 16:

Locals of Kalyan of Surkhet, who were injured and displaced after an attack by PLA fighters a few days ago, demanded that the government ensure their safe return to the village.

At a press meet organised in Birendranagar today, they said terror still reigned in the village, adding, “It is still not safe to return to home.” Tek Bahadur Gurung, who was injured in the attack, informed that more than 25 locals were displaced from the village.

Kul Bahadur Saru of Kalyan-5 said, “PLA combatants are still occupying our houses.” He urged the government to create environment conducive for their safe return. Purna Bahadur Raskoti, a displaced student, said he was concerned about the approaching SLC examinations.

As many as 25 SLC students have been displaced after the incident.
