KATHMANDU: Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) indicted Section Officer Uttam Prasad Kharel of graft.

The anti-graft body filed a charge sheet at the Special Court against him today.

Kharel, deputed at the Department of Foreign Employment, Buddhanagar, was arrested while receiving Rs 1,00,000 as bribe from the side of an individual who was detained.

Kharel had allegedly demanded the sum to illegally settle the case, according to the CIAA.

He faces corruption charge as per the Section 3 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002.

The CIAA has sought three years sentence and Rs 1,00,000 pentalty from the accused.
