DPS marks Education Day

Kavre, September 8:

Dipendra Police Higher Secondary School, Sanga, today organised a cultural programme and award distribution ceremony to mark the National Education Day and International Literacy Day.

Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Amar Singh Shah lauded the efforts made by the school, its teachers and the staffers in providing quality education to the children of police personnel.

He also gave away prizes to the students excelling in various academic and non-academic activities. Principal of the school Hemanta Rana said the school has adopted the policy of providing education to as many children of police personnel as possible, but that they were facing certain problems now. He also said the school was preparing to celebrate its silver jubilee amidst fanfare from March 2008 throughout the year.

Academic Vice-Principal of the school Chandra Baral said the school is striving to provide more facilities to the students and that recently a computer laboratory has been established with 24-hour Internet facility. The students presented a cultural programme featuring Teej songs and dances and a comedy play as well.
