Dr KC admitted to district hospital

Dadeldhura, November 9

Dr Govinda KC, who is on his 17th hunger strike demanding reform in medical sector, was admitted to Dadeldhura District Hospital last night.

Acting Medical Director Jitendra Kandel said KC was admitted to the hospital following his health check-up at the site where he was staging the strike.

“After his health condition deteriorated, Dr KC was admitted to the hospital to keep him under observation,” said Kandel.

He had been staging the hunger strike at an individual’s home, 100 metres away from the district hospital in Baghkhor.

Various organisations including Federation of Nepali Journalists Dadeldhura chapter, Ugratara Transport, Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dadeldhura chapter at the initiative of Dadeldhura Civil Society took out a whistle rally in support of KC today.

Nepali Congress Dadeldhura district President Karna Bahadur Malla visited KC to take stock of his health. Malla urged the government to fulfil the demands raised by Dr KC.

He warned of waging stern agitation if the government did not meet the demands raised by Dr KC.
