Dr KC taken to KAHS emergency after severe chest pain

Kathmandu, July 4

Senior Orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC has been taken to Karnali Academy of Health Science emergency ward after his health condition worsened.

According to Dr Prabin Giri, vice president of Nepal Medical Association Karnali Branch, Dr KC suffered severe chest pain and lost consciousness. “Seeing Dr KC’s health, we headed towards the hospital with the help of local people,” he added.

He also informed that Dr KC had severe chest pain due to the climatic condition of Jumla and long run of fast unto death. “The health condition of Dr KC started worsening since the second day of his 15th fast-unto-death. He is now recovering.

“Though Dr KC was in the custody of District Police, we headed towards the hospital without taking permission from police,” he said.

Assistant district officer Tek Bahadur Budhathapa and Deputy Superintendent of Police TapanDahal also visited him at the hospital and directed to provide health services to Dr KC , he informed.

He also said Dr KC needs to be referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.
