Drinking water shortage hits Chepang community

GORKHA: An acute shortage of drinking water has hit hard a Chepang settlement in the Gandaki Rural Municipality of Gorkha district.

As many as 25 households of Chepang community now are compelled to fetch the drinking water from a far away source that is at hours distance.

The water sources near the village had gone dry after the 2015 earthquake hit the area thereby creating shortage in the community.

“Neither the financially poor community is able to collect funds to install generator to pump up the water from the Trishuli River that flows below the settlement nor any concerned bodies have initiated to address the problem so far,” complained locals.
